Dear OCWC Parents,

With wrestling season soon approaching, preparations are underway to make your child's OCWC experience enjoyable and successful. We are excited about our new website! We feel this will help us to communicate to all the parents easily. This site will be used along with the OCWC bulletin board in the hallway outside the wrestling room for posting information such as upcoming events, information for parents, sign up dates, weather cancellations, and etc.

Another two coaches will get their USAW Bronze Certification in late October, bringing our coaching numbers to eleven certified coaches.

Coach Giles and I will be around to all three grade schools to talk with the students and hand out the informational fliers soon. Registration and parent meetings will be Monday, November 13th and Wednesday, November 15th with practice starting November 27.

Our OCWC Novice Tournament and Open Tournament are scheduled on January 27, 2007 and February 3, 2007 respectively. As a matter of pride, we always want participants and their parents to leave our tournament with the feeling that we did everything possible to make it successful for everyone. Please remember that our tournaments are not only a great experience for our young athletes, but also a major fund raiser used to support our club.

This year, as a fund raiser, our club will be collecting donations for chances to win one of the two single-night stays at a bed and breakfast. We will sell chances to win until February 3, 2007 when we pick the two winners during our open tournament. This fund raiser is a good source of revenue for our club and is good publicity.

We are pleased that you and your children will be sharing this experience with us. If you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me or Coach Giles. We will try our best to address your questions or issues. Once again, we thank you for your support and for giving us the chance to work with your children.(October 26, 2006)

Sincerely,

Jerry Mick Jeff Giles
