Minneapolis's first duals of the season began last week on Dec. 6. To start off the dual season Nathan Reed took the mat against TMP at 103 Lbs but was pinned in the first period. At 112 Lbs Brody Laflin wreslted hard and pinned his opponent with 1:01 left in the first period. John Corman then out wreslted his opponent in an 8 - 3 win. At 125 Lbs Dusty Greer wrestled the same physical style as John and beat his opponent 6 - 0 to give the Lions a 12 - 6 lead. At 130 Lbs and 135 Lbs Tyler Hamilton and Zac Eaton both won with opens. A close match at 140 Lbs ended with Anthony Brannum in the lead 10 - 8. At this point the Lions led 27 - 6. Cody Eaton then gave the Lions 6 points with an open and Alberto Contreras pinned his opponent with :52 seconds left in the first period. At 160 Lbs Nick Torres wrestled hard but was caught on his back with :48 seconds left in the second period. At 171 Lbs Jacob Klein was also pinned in the second period. Andy Griffith then sealed the Lions victory when he pinned his opponent in the third period at 189 Lbs. Josh Mullen gave up a pin 215 and TMP took an open at heavyweight to add 12 points to their score but it was not enough as the Lions won 45 - 30.
Minneapolis 72 St. Johns 12
The second dual of the night and season once again began with Nathan Reed where he pinned his opponent with :43 seconds left in the 1st period. Minneapoils won by opens from 112 Lbs - 130 Lbs. Starting up the wrestling again at 135 Lbs was Zac Eaton pinning his opponent with :37 seconds left in the 1st period. At 140 Lbs Anthony Brannum also took an open to put the Lions up 42 - 0. At 145 Lbs and 152 Lbs Cody Eaton and Alberto Contreras both pinned their opponents early in the first period to give the Lions 12 more points. At 160 Lbs Nick Torres pinned his opponent in the 2nd period. At 171 Lbs Jacob Klein won by an open, and at 189 Lbs Andy Griffith pinned his opponent with :50 seconds left in the 2nd period. At 215 Lbs Josh Mullen gave up a pin to give St. Johns their first win of the night. Minneapolis gave St. Johns 6 more points at 285 Lbs with an open making the final score Minneapolis 72, St. Johns 12.
